4.          REPORTS & UPDATES:

•           Program Update (programs, special events, rentals): Molly

Molly reported that summer programs are in progress. Canoe camp was very successful and Fly Fishing Camp is beginning. Birthday parties are still being scheduled and the Bluegrass music night was very well attended. We hope to do more events like this in the future.

•           Facilities Update: Greg

             Greg Roth was not able to attend this meeting.

•           Parking Area Update: Greg

In current discussions, the donation of the entrance apron to the parking lot from Mr. Hawbaker will be completed as per the Highway Occupancy Permit.

•          Thompson Woods Subcommittee: Jennifer

Jennifer reported some concerns regarding the management of Thompson Woods by the previous owners. A meeting will be scheduled in July to address these concerns.

•          Capital Campaign Updates

                          a. Major Donor Visits: Molly

                          Molly reported that major visits are coming to a close and have been successful.

                          b. Governmental Plan (COG, County, State): Rick Marboe

Rick is coordinating a presentation with the County Commissioners as a follow up to the campaign letter sent to them.

                          c. Spring Creek Day Donor Reception / Public Campaign Kick-off

A reception will be held at Spring Creek Day to provide information to the community about the public phase of the campaign.

5.          BUSINESS ITEMS

•           Recommendation to CRRA to waive rental fees for Spring Creek Day 2006: Jennifer

             Motion by Rick Marboe, Second by Diane Kerly

•           Joint Program with Centre County READS and Mt. Nittany Conservancy, Sun. 8 Oct 06: Molly

      Molly reported this event will encourage visitors to the nature center as they attend the Mt Nittany hike.

•           2007 Budget Process - Discuss requests for 2007: Molly

Molly reported on adding a new staff position, Program Coordinator, to the budget in hopes to increase the daily participation at the marsh and assist with program activities during the 9 month Apr-Oct season.

•           MMNC 10-Year Anniversary Event Ideas (2007): Molly

             A group will be formed to begin planning activities or an event to celebrate the anniversary.
