MILLBROOK MARSH NATURE CENTER
THE BUILDING FUND CAMPAIGN
(March 2008)

WANTED: NATURE LOVERS!  Millbrook Marsh Nature Center is beautiful year-round! We are dedicated to building a facility to provide education programs for the community in all seasons. Nature Center volunteers have raised over $1,000,000 during the Building Fund Campaign toward reaching the local goal of $1.25 million to build and operate an innovative and creative environmental education center on a year-round basis. WE NEED YOUR HELP! Please join us to support this special community gem in the heart of the Centre Region! That's MY Millbrook Marsh... make it yours too!

Boardwalk"My great-uncle said - Go see the oaks, where he spent many hours of his life. What secrets did my great-uncle tell the Oaks? He didn't know that one day I would look up into the oak branches and hope my grandson will appreciate the family memories the marsh holds...."
— Holly Fritchman, MMNC Advisory Committee Member

"It is quiet in the middle of madness… the wild in the midst of the tame. Millbrook opens up so much for the people who spend time there... it is experience… it is the chance to stop and look at the world around you and to see the "balance" between it all.
— Phil Gardner, MMNC Program Leader

"My 4-year-old daughter loves exploring the boardwalk and attending events "at the barn." Witnessing the joy that children experience and the discoveries they make at Millbrook Marsh has been very rewarding for me."
— Robin Bang, MMNC Volunteer

PLANS FOR THE FUTURE
The vision for the Millbrook Marsh Nature Center is to build and operate an innovative and creative environmental education center on a year-round basis (the Spring Creek Education Building), a cutting-edge wetland/water laboratory, information kiosks, a parking area, and access to community bike paths. With this vision in mind, members of the Millbrook Marsh Nature Center Advisory Committee have volunteered countless hours fund-raising and networking during the quiet phase of this campaign to raise just over $1,000,000 towards the $1.25 million (local) goal. Pledges from major gift donors, local governments, grants and foundations have been part of the quiet phase.
