Have a case of Cabin Fever? Bundle up and head outdoors to the Village Ice Rink at Blue Spring Park, located at 230 Wagner Street, Boalsburg (Harris Township). This activity is FREE and fun for kids of all ages! It's an all-natural, on-ground rink (no refrigeration system).The on-ground ice rink measures 80' x 45' and is totally dependant upon (1) the weather and (2) the commitment of community volunteers to assist CRPR with ice maintenance and to help prevent damage or vandalism.

Ice hockey is only permitted during the “Hockey-only” times on Mon. & Thurs., 3-5:30 PM.  Check here or call the “CRPR Ice Line” (tape message) at 234-7146 for current rink status. Meet at the Nature Center Barn and don’t forget to bring your flashlight. There will be prizes, food, music and more! FREE, but advance registration is required. Remember to dress for the weather. EggsCRPR Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Saturday, April 3, 2:00 PM. Rain, shine or snow! FREE! Centre Region Parks & Recreation’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt (with over 7000 eggs) will be held at Orchard Park, located at the corner of Bayberry Dr. & Blue Course Dr. Prize baskets will again be provided by members of the State College Rotary Club. The hunt will begin at 2:00 PM SHARP, so please arrive in time to meet the Easter Bunny! The following four age group areas will be provided: • 2 yrs. & Under • 3-5 yrs. • 6 & 7 yrs. • 8 & 9 yrs.

Earth Day Birthday is an enjoyable time for all ages and open to the public for no charge. This event is planned by PSU Recreation, Parks & Tourism Management students as a class project.

Bring your sweetheart to Millbrook Marsh Nature Center on Mothers Day weekend and enjoy the lantern-lit boardwalk, make a wish at the wishing well, stop under the kissing tree and dance in the barn! Couples will be greeted by a staff person and then walk at their own pace. This event is not appropriate for children. Free; no registration required. More info will be posted here in April.

PumpkinThe 64th Annual
Centre Region HALLOWEEN COSTUME PARADE

is scheduled for MONDAY, 26 October 2009, 6:30 PM line-up / 7:00 PM step-off.   Approximately 2,000 attended this event in 2009!
A FREE fall family tradition! Centre Region Parks & Recreation and the State College Lions Club will again cosponsor the parade through downtown State College. Costume judging will take place at Memorial Field by the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. Treats will be provided by the S.C. Lions Club.
Please note the following Costume Categories:
• Halloween Tiny Tots (ages 2 & under), • Cartoon Characters, • Witches & Monsters, • Fairy Tale Characters, • Ghosts & Goblins, • TV / Movie Characters, • Animals on Parade, • Halloween Twosome, • Groups (3 or more), • Open Class.As in prior years, the Parade Line-up Zone is along Burrowes Road starting from W. College Ave. (beside the PSU Steam Plant) and extending up the hill into campus by Costume Category.  Line-up begins at 6:30 PM and the parade steps off at 7:00 PM. MMNC Logo7th Annual "Millbrook Marsh HISTORIC HARVEST FESTIVAL"

Sunday, 8 November 2009 from 2–5 PM.
at Millbrook Marsh Nature Center, 614 Puddintown Road, College Township.
Attractions will include: kid-friendly animals, blacksmithing, historic toy displays, nature walks, crafts for kids, kettle corn, candle making, storytelling, refreshments and more! Live entertainment by The Kalob Griffen Band.  Rain, snow or shine! For more information, contact CRPR at (814) 231-3071. This FREE event is being planned and implemented by Penn State Recreation, Park and Tourism Management 356 students in collaboration with CRPR Millbrook Marsh Nature Center. No advance registration is necessary.
